Epilepsy support group event Saturday

The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota is looking to start a local support group in Grand Forks and is planning an event this Saturday.

People who have epilepsy and their guests are invited to a “Connect Bowling Event” from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday at Red Ray Lanes, 2101 S. Washington St. in Grand Forks, officials said. The afternoon of bowling and pizza is free for people with epilepsy and $5 for others. All ages are welcome.

The event is a step toward revitalizing an epilepsy support group for the area, said Amy Haugen, a regional outreach coordinator for the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota. She is based in Fargo. “We have a number of people from that area who receive information from us, but unfortunately most of our events are in Fargo,” she said.
