Phony money turns up in Fergus Falls, Minn.

Police confirm that counterfeit 20s passed in Fergus Falls are connected a counterfeit money case in Fargo, N.D.

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. — Police confirm that counterfeit 20s passed in Fergus Falls are connected a counterfeit money case in Fargo, N.D.

Last Thursday, a SWAT team with a search warrant conducted a search in Fargo. Two people were arrested. The next day, four fake $20 bills were passed at merchants in the Fergus Falls area. The serial numbers match those of the fake money in Fargo.

Police are still looking to identify the man who was in Fergus Falls Friday night. Pictures of the man are posted on the Fergus Falls Police Facebook page.

KBRF-AM reports the U.S. Secret Service will be working on the case.
