A study has found that North Dakota State University has an $884 million annual impact on the region's economy.

FARGO, N.D.— A study has found that North Dakota State University has an $884 million annual impact on the region's economy.

The study was commissioned by NDSU and conducted by Economic Modeling Specialists International, which is based in Idaho.

The Forum newspaper reports that spending by the university, students and others puts about $884 million into the economy.

The study also found that students get a high rate of return on their investment in an education at the school.

It shows students increase their lifetime income by $5.23 for every $1 they invest in their NDSU education. The average regional career midpoint income for someone with a bachelor's degree is $58,200, nearly double that of someone with a high school diploma.
