Two new cases of active tuberculosis have been identified in the Grand Forks area, bringing the number of active cases to 15, the North Dakota Department of Health reported today.

Health officials are continuing to work in the area, trying to identify people who may have been exposed to the active cases. People who are considered at risk will be contacted and given guidance about testing procedures, officials said.

Several hundred Grand Forks County residents have been tested since the outbreak initially was reported in late October.

More information about TB can be found at the Grand Forks Public Health website.
