Altru Health Foundation gets grant for home services

The Altru Health Foundation received a $25,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation’s state giving program to purchase monitors for Altru Health System’s home services.
The equipment will allow Altru nurses to monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, weight, blood sugar, and oxygen levels of patients receiving daily care. The grant also provides home scales to monitor sudden weight gain that would indicate fluid retention related to heart failure.
