Clifford Leonard Jacobson

Clifford Leonard Jacobson, 93, passed away quietly at Altru Hospital, November 18, 2012. He was born March 14, 1919 to August and Alice (Reynolds) in Fergus Falls, MN.

Cliff served in the army during World War II under General Patton, and was part of the D-Day Invasion.

He married Alvina Schmidt on February 17, 1944, at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

Upon returning from service Cliff worked for Great Lakes Pipeline, now Williams Brothers, from which he retired after 35 years.

Cliff served as a leader of Boy Scouts, he enjoyed hunting, was an avid gardener, and an expert in grafting apple trees. He was also a member of Grand Forks DAV, East Grand Forks American Legion and VFW, and Sharon Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Alvina of East Grand Forks, MN; sons: Bruce (Kathy) Jacobson of Carbondale, IL; Dale (Therese) Jacobson of Alvarado, MN; daughter Nancy (Denny) Jacobson of Phoenix, AZ; and three granddaughters, Kelly, Kristi, and Jenna.

Memorial services: 1:30 PM Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, ND
