Marilyn appears on Anderson Cooper, gets second cruise (with video)

Herald columnist Marilyn Hagerty learned today that she’s going on a 12-day Mediterranean cruise, courtesy of Anderson Cooper.

She was in New York to appear on Cooper’s TV talk show when, at the end of her segment, he surprised his “favorite food critic of all time” with the gift.

“I felt bad that you didn’t get to go, so our friends at Celebrity Cruises are going to fly you and a guest to enjoy another cruise,” Cooper said.

He’d given her a cruise in the Adriatic Sea when she first appeared on his show in May, but a bad tooth prevented her taking that cruise last month.

Marilyn gained fame when her review of the Olive Garden in Grand Forks went viral online in March.

For her second appearance on Cooper’s show Tuesday, she reviewed both the Olive Garden and the Red Lobster restaurant in Waycross, Ga.

Reading the offering of “lobster pizza” in her segment filmed at the Red Lobster, she said “I would never do such a thing to good lobster.”
