62nd Wedding Anniversary

November 8, 1949

Local couple Romaine Cariveau and Russell Guntzburger was married on Tuesday, November 8, 1949 at the Polk County Courthouse in Crookston, MN with a later blessing at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, MN. Attendants were sister of the bride, June Cariveau Sollom and her husband Whitey Sollom.

* With a special acknowledgement and thank you to friend Ray Brusegaard for the use of his new car for this special drive to Crookston.

The newlyweds celebrated with lunch at Whitey's Cafe in East Grand Forks and in the evening many memories were made with a wedding dance upstairs at the East Grand Forks VFW Club attended by both families and friends.

The next day Russ and Ro honeymooned with a round-trip train ride, which included white linen dining, to Minneapolis and enjoyed a one night hotel stay. On their return, a party was given by the owners and staff of Wong's Cafe in East Grand Forks where Romaine was employed. Russell, a WWII veteran, was employed with The Grand Forks Park Board as the caretaker of Riverside Park.

The couple has made East Grand Forks their life-long home for 63 Years of loving, living, involved with and celebrating others and each other.

Congratulations and Happy 63rd Anniversary to the happy couple. Thanks for a lifetime of love and caring attention, and more happy memories to come.

Much love and happiness from your family.
