Free lung care screening

The Cancer Center of North Dakota in Grand Forks is offering free lung cancer screening throughout November for anyone age 55 or older. Also eligible for screening are people who have smoked one pack of cigarettes per week for 30 years or more.

The Cancer Center of North Dakota in Grand Forks is offering free lung cancer screening throughout November for anyone age 55 or older.

Also eligible for screening are people who have smoked one pack of cigarettes per week for 30 years or more.

CCND is partnering with Independent Radiology Services, Ltd., on the screening program which highlights November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in men and women, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It accounts for 29 percent of deaths due to cancer.

The CT scan can be scheduled weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
