Some of the area’s best lefse makers will make and sell lefse and other Scandinavian treats during Lefse Fest from 3 to 7 p.m. Nov. 16 in the Fosston (Minn.) Civic Center.

Lefse makers will compete for the title “Champion Lefse Maker.” They’ll offer samples of their work and sell lefse and other treats so visitors can stock up for the holidays, a news release said.

The event also kicks off “Light Up the Night,” a contest for merchants to decorate their stores and win a community lighting contest, and the beginning of extended holiday shopping hours.

Lefse Fest also supports the Fosston Food Shelf. Visitors and shoppers at the event are asked to donate non-perishable food items or make a monetary donation at the door.

For more information, go to LefseFest.org or call Quinn at (218) 431-0717.
