Here is a great-tasting recipe for next month’s Halloween party.

Double Chocolate Soy-Nut Cookies

1 cup sugar

¼ cup margarine

1/3 cup soybean oil

2/3 cup soymilk

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups flour

¾ cup soy flour

½ cup cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup semisweet chocolate chips

½ cup soynuts

2 squares white confectionary coating

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In bowl, add sugar, margarine; cream. Add oil, mix. Stir in milk, vanilla; blend. In separate bowl, add dry ingredients, mix. Stir dry into margarine mixture, mix. Add chips, nuts, blend lightly. Put generous spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Cool. In microwave-safe bowl, add coating, microwave 30 seconds at a time until melted. Drizzle on cookies. Let set-up.

Yield: 24 cookies.
