Improving and replacing technology has earned Altru Health System an award.

The hospital is recognized as one of the nation's "Most Wired" according to a survey in 'Hospitals and Health Networks' magazine.

"Most Wired" hospitals like Altru are using health information technology to improve physician performance. This protects patient's data and improves communications throughout the system.

Mark Waind - Altru Health System: "From a Most Wired standpoint they really look at your overall infrastructure. They want to make sure you have a system that's going to protect that patient's information and if you have that information if you would have any kind of power outage or something you have some way to recover from that."

Altru has won this award 4 times in the past.
