This would be a hit at a backyard barbecue.
Bruschetta Burger
1 tomato, chopped
2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
1 clove garlic, finely minced
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
1½ pounds ground beef
1 tablespoon Weber Gourmet Burger Seasoning
8 slices sourdough bread
Extra virgin olive oil
Combine tomato, Parmesan cheese, basil, garlic, vinegar, teaspoon olive oil in small bowl. Set aside. Gently shape ground beef into 4 (½-inch thick) burgers. Season burgers on both sides with 1 tablespoon seasoning. Grill over direct medium heat with lid closed as much as possible, until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees for medium, 12 to 15 minutes, turning once. Lightly brush both sides of sourdough with olive oil. Grill for 3 to 4 minutes, turning once, until bread is lightly toasted. Place burgers on bread; top with tomato mixture, additional slice of bread.
Yield: Serves 4.
