Craig and Molly Hollenbeck, Minneapolis, letter: Many thanks to Woodside Village staff
To all who are engaged in this noble profession and certainly to those at Woodside Village, thank you and please know how much you are appreciated and valued.By: Craig and Molly Hollenbeck,
MINNEAPOLIS — My mother was a nursing home resident of Woodside Village, the skilled nursing facility at 4000 Valley Square, a retirement community in Grand Fork.
She passed away in early June.
My wife and I want to convey our heartfelt thanks to the staff, who did so much to make her comfortable and cared for during her time there.
As was my mom, we both are educators and are proud to be members of a noble profession.
But we can think of nothing nobler than providing dignity and comfort for those who are in the last months or years of their lives.
When our students or others talk about worthy professions in life, it is impossible for us not to think of those at Woodside Village and what they do. Glamorous? No. Underappreciated? Yes.
Noble, honorable and important beyond words?
Absolutely.
We simply cannot put into words how much peace of mind we were able to achieve knowing that my mom was being cared for by a group of people whom we will never forget or cease to admire.
The staff at Woodside Village made an indelible impression on us while giving my mom the priceless gifts of dignity, love and genuine care at the end of her life.
So, to all who are engaged in this noble profession and certainly to those at Woodside Village, thank you and please know how much you are appreciated and valued.
Craig and Molly Hollenbeck
