Grand Forks employee earns award
The North Dakota Public Health Association recently named Haley Thorson, a registered nurse with the Grand Forks Public Health Department as the 2012 health worker of the year. The North Dakota Public Health Association recently named Haley Thorson, a registered nurse with the Grand Forks Public Health Department as the 2012 health worker of the year. Thorson is the fourth Grand Forks Public Health Department employee in the past five years to receive the top honor.
This annual award was presented at the Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health held recently in Grand Forks. The award recognizes an association member “who has made a significant contribution in the field of public health in the past year,” according to a press release. Thorson was nominated for her work in tobacco prevention and public policy development.
