WATFORD CITY, N.D. — Watford City has hand-delivered notices to nine food vendors saying it is planning to locate all of them at the fairgrounds west of town.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that vendors would be charged $50 a day for rent plus $25 a day for a transient merchant license.

Lilia and Jesse Spitzack say they put their life savings into Sloppy Jalopy, a bus they turned into a traveling food trailer and drove into town two months ago.

Since arriving from Minnesota, they've moved four times and have been told they have to move once again or leave town.

The topic was hashed out by the Watford City Council during a meeting Monday. Councilors discussed other options such as fitting the trailers into the community with restrictions and new ordinances.
