LaVerne Wilson, 73, has ended her earthly journey on April 27, 2012 at home due to diabetes and heart disease.

At first the Angels stood behind her bed guarding her every breath. Later when the breath began to fade, the Angels hovered above her, gently lifting her spirit into the heavenly hands of God. LaVerne Wilson, 73, has ended her earthly journey on April 27, 2012 at home due to diabetes and heart disease.

LaVerne Agnes LaFave was born May 20, 1938 in East Grand Forks, MN, the daughter of J. Edward LaFave and Magdalene "Lena" (Dorsher) LaFave.

She grew up in East Grand Forks, she was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Church and attended Sacred Heart school. She graduated from Aaker's Business College. Over the years she had been employed at Valley Memorial Home, JC Penney, Target, Bronze Boot, Hanson and Maves Transporting Co. and the Elks Club. She retired in 1992 due to illness.

The pride and joy of her life were her five daughters, twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who she loved dearly. She enjoyed time spent with her family, was an avid reader and had an enthusiastic pursuit of various interests. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and to see what they would become. She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking and cookbook collecting, reading, growing flowering plants and in her later years, playing Bingo.

She was an active member of St. Michael's Parish and Altar Society, American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries Clubs and Red Hat Society.

She is survived by four daughters: Jilene (Kerry) Dudgeon of East Grand Forks, Kristine (John) Riskey of Minto, Michele (Joseph) Kerlin of New Richmond, WI, and Jenifer (Denny) Wynne of Grand Forks; Son-in-law Ricki Johnson. Grandchildren: Scott and Bryce Kirchoffner, Miranda (Ryan) Overbeck, Miriah and Andrew Dudgeon, Breanna (James) Barta, Brock Riskey, Joshua, Matthew and Rachel Kerlin, Jacob and Lucas Wynne. Great-Grandchildren: Cayden Kirchoffner, Cooper and Hudson Overbeck. Siblings: Richard "Dick" (LaVerne), Castle Rock, WA, Evelyn Coble, West Plains, MO, Darlene (Kernen) Lien, Kelso, WA and Alice Jacobson..

She is preceded in death by her daughters Vicki L. Johnson and Jolene N. Kasprick, her parents, and nine siblings.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 with a 7:00 PM Vigil on Monday, April 30, 2012 in Dahl Funeral Home of EGF, MN

Burial: Calvary Cemetery Grand Forks, ND
