Grand Forks International Airport breaks boarding record in March

Grand Forks International Airport had more passenger boardings in March than in any month on record, the airport authority said Tuesday. There were a total of 14,582 boardings, which is 15 percent more than the previous record set in 1992 and 33 percent more than in the same month a year ago.

Grand Forks International Airport had more passenger boardings in March than in any month on record, the airport authority said Tuesday.

There were a total of 14,582 boardings, which is 15 percent more than the previous record set in 1992 and 33 percent more than in the same month a year ago.

The record breaking month followed a record breaking year in 2011 when boardings totaled 116,938, 1.26 percent more than the previous record.

The airport is served by Delta Air Lines and Allegiant Travel, which added a third destination in August.
