This recipe comes close to a discontinued Kraft favorite.
Creamy Italian Dressing
1/3 cup olive or vegetable oil
2 to 3 cloves garlic
3 tablespoons sugar
¼ teaspoon onion powder
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
¾ cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup half-and-half
Place oil, garlic, sugar, onion powder, salt, pepper in blender. Pulse until garlic is chopped then blend at low speed for 1 minute until mixture is pureed. Add vinegar, mayonnaise, half-and-half; blend well. Taste for seasoning, adjusting with onion and/or garlic powder, vinegar. Refrigerate at least 3 hours.
Yield: Serves 12.
Approximate nutritional analysis per serving: 169 calories, 90 percent of calories from fat, 17.1 grams fat (2.8 grams saturated), 7.4 milligrams cholesterol, 0.3 grams protein, 4 grams carbohydrates, no fiber, 81 milligrams sodium.
