Make your own version at home of this Chinese restaurant favorite.

Honey Garlic Pork

6 boneless pork loin chops

MARINADE:

6 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons soy sauce

4 to 6 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

TO FINISH:

1 tablespoon cornstarch

3 green onions, finely chopped

Cut fat from chops. Whisk marinade ingredients together, pour over chops in zippered plastic bag. Refrigerate 4 hours. Bake in casserole dish, uncovered, for 30 minutes at 375 degrees, or until meat tests done. Keep meat warm. Dissolve cornstarch in ½ cup water. Add to juices in pan, heat, stirring, until thick. Add onion. Serve meat with sauce over rice. Top with sesame seeds.

Yield: Serves 6.

Approximate nutritional analysis per serving: 320 calories, 38 percent of calories from fat, 13.3 grams fat (4.1 grams saturated), 95 milligrams cholesterol, 30.2 grams protein, 19.7 grams carbohydrates, 0.5 grams fiber, 572 milligrams sodium.
