UND to host collegiate version of 'Iron Chef' today

The University of North Dakota is hosting a collegiate version of the hit television show "Iron Chef." The Culinary Challenge will feature college chefs preparing recipes with the common ingredient of flounder and presenting their dishes to a panel of judges.

GRAND FORKS — The University of North Dakota is hosting a collegiate version of the hit television show "Iron Chef."

The Culinary Challenge will feature college chefs preparing recipes with the common ingredient of flounder and presenting their dishes to a panel of judges.

The competition kicks off at 11:15 a.m. today at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks.

It's being held in conjunction with the 2012 continental regional conference for the National Association of College and University Food Services.

The winner will go on to compete at the national conference in Boston.

Contestants hail from UND, Concordia College, University of Montana, Colorado State University, University of Wyoming and University of Colorado-Boulder.
