This “classic” appetizer would be a hit at any party.
‘Philly’ Cheese Ball
1 8-ounce tub sharp Cheddar flavor cold-pack cheese food, such as Cracker Barrel brand
1 8-ounce package cream cheese
2 tablespoons margarine or butter
2 teaspoons each of chopped pimiento, green bell pepper and onion
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon lemon juice
Mix cheeses, margarine until well-blended. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Mold into 2 bell shapes, using cold-pack container coated with margarine or lined with plastic wrap. Chill until firm; unmold. Garnish with pimiento strips, chopped parsley.
Yield: Serves 20 (2 bells).
Approximate nutritional analysis per serving: 66 calories, 68 percent of calories from fat, 5.1 grams fat (2.5 grams saturated), 13.7 milligrams cholesterol, 3.2 grams protein, 2.1 grams carbohydrates, no fiber, 226 milligrams sodium.
