MINNEAPOLIS — The wife and the ex-wife of a Twin Cities entrepreneur killed in a 2010 plane crash, along with his three sons, are fighting for custody of the ex-wife's 6-year-old son.
Luke and Ginger Bucklin had been co-parenting five children from Luke's first marriage to Michelle Bucklin as well as Michelle's younger son from another marriage. After Luke Bucklin was killed, Ginger and Michelle Bucklin cared for the boy, but are now fighting over custody.
Ginger Bucklin has been granted custody of the child for now. An attorney for Michelle Bucklin says Ginger Bucklin's claims of his client's emotional instability are distorted. The Star Tribune reports that according to a court petition Michelle Bucklin was recently hospitalized on a psychiatric hold. Her attorney says it was the result of depression over the plane crash.
