GRAND FORKS — A woman accused of stealing the identity of another person and using it to obtain student loans says she will plead guilty in North Dakota.

Ngwisang Anyangwe is charged in federal court with mail fraud, aggravated identity theft and false claim of United States citizenship. She was arrested in Houston on Oct. 31.

Authorities say the 28-year-old Anyangwe used the stolen identity to defraud Sallie Mae out of $48,000 in student loans. She allegedly received three separate checks for $10,000 and one for $8,000.

A sentencing hearing has not been set.
