Winter weather advisory until 9 a.m. for much of northwest Minnesota

Freezing rain is expected to end early this morning over northwest Minnesota, but not before continued light snow from Warroad to Baudette, leaving totals of 1 to maybe 2 inches, the National Weather Service office in Grand Forks says.
The freezing rain will affect areas from Fosston to Bemidji. Roads are icy and extreme caution is advised.
Impacted counties include Roseau, Lake of the Woods, Beltrami, Clearwater, Red Lake, Pennington, eastern Marshall and eastern Polk.
The winter weather advisory will expire at 9 a.m.
Elsewhere in the region, patches of fog and mist will affect travel, and roads are icy in some locations, the weather service says.
