This salad dressing is the real thing.
Old-Style Thousand Island
¾ cup mayonnaise
½ cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
2 tablespoons finely chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons finely chopped pimiento
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon salt
2 hard-boiled eggs, finely chopped
Whisk the mayonnaise with the chili sauce, relish, pepper, pimiento, onion, paprika and salt to combine. Stir in egg.
Yield: About 2 cups.
Approximate nutritional analysis per 2-tablespoon serving: 94 calories, 85 percent of calories from fat, 8.9 grams fat (1.4 grams saturated, 2.3 grams monounsaturated), 27 milligrams cholesterol, 1.1 grams protein, 2.5 grams carbohydrates, 0.5 grams fiber, 250 milligrams sodium.
