Rennie Totleben, 78, of Hallock, Minnesota and formerly of Chicago, Illinois passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 7th, 2011.

Rennie Totleben, 78, of Hallock, Minnesota and formerly of Chicago, Illinois passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 7th, 2011.

Beloved husband of Eileen, nee Gryzwinski; Devoted father of Michael, Patrick and Robert; dear brother of Jeannie Priest, Mary Lou Niksich, (Ed) and Anthony "Buddy" (Sharon) Totleben. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Rennie was preceded in death by his siblings, Clarence, Richie, Dolly and Raymond and parents Alex and Marie.

Rennie was an engineer by trade and had a long a varied career with Illinois Bell, Holiday Inn Hotels and Marriott International.

Rennie was passionate about the hospitality industry, mentoring numerous young managers and engineers. Rennie was the type of man who had genuine goodness that showed every day. As a department head one of his many gifts was his ability to identify the best qualities in a person.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran; an officer in the Hallock Eagles and a 50 year member of the American Legion. A lover of great food and all things Italian, Rennie would have celebrated his 50th anniversary this February with wife Eileen. He lived throughout his life and career in Chicago, Illinois, Munster, Indiana, Livonia, Michigan, Escondido, California and Hallock Minnesota.

Rennie could fix, build or find a solution to any mechanical problem whether a home or 1000 room hotel.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 13th at 11 am at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, Hallock, MN.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock.

Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the funeral service.
