After a cold snap for the past week, the Red River Valley is expected to enjoy another round of above normal temperatures and unseasonably warm weather just in time for the Thanksgiving weekend.
The National Weather Service expects Grand Forks to be sunny Wednesday and climb to 44 degrees — well above the normal high of 30. Temperatures will dip down to about 29 Wednesday night, still much warmer than the normal low of 15.
The city also will have a sunny Thanksgiving Day, with a high near 46 Thursday before temperatures drop to about 29 for the night.
Grand Forks is expected to have more seasonable weather later in the week, with a high near 38 Friday and a slight chance of rain and snow Friday night.
There also is a slight chance of snow Saturday, which is expected to be a mostly cloudy day with a high of 34 degrees before dropping to a low of 22.
But temperatures will remain just above the freezing point throughout the weekend, with highs of 33 and 36 degrees expected for Sunday and Monday.
There is another slight chance of rain and snow Monday.
