Snow, strong winds prompt winter weather advisory in north-central N.D.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the north-central North Dakota region, saying up to 4 inches of snow was possible. Wind gusts up to 30 mph were reducing visibility to half a mile or less.

MINOT — Snow and strong winds have made travel difficult in north central North Dakota early today.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the region, saying up to 4 inches of snow was possible. Wind gusts up to 30 mph were reducing visibility to half a mile or less.

The state Transportation Department issued a travel alert for Minot and the rest of the region, saying motorists could still travel but might experience hazardous conditions.
