Grand Forks residents saw snow Wednesday afternoon for the first time this fall.By: Brittany Konop, Grand Forks Herald
It had to happen sooner or later.
Today at around 1:35 p.m., the first snow fall appeared for the winter season in Grand Forks.
The National Weather Service office in Grand Forks says light flurries were expected to continue for about an hour to 90 minutes before ending.
Jim Kaiser, a meteorologist at the weather service, said Grand Forks can expect continued windy and cloudy conditions until later tonight. The sky is expected to clear by morning, he said.

As of 6 a.m. Thursday:
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43. Northwest wind 7 to 13 mph becoming south.
Thursday night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. South wind between 9 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Veterans Day: Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. West wind between 8 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.
Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. West northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 52. South wind between 8 and 10 mph.
Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.
Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 40.
Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43.
Monday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26.
Tuesday: A slight chance of rain and snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38.
Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 32.
