First Care Health Center receives grant for ag-related accident trauma training

First Care Health Center is the recipient of a grant through the North Dakota Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility program, according to a news release from the center.

The Flex Network Development Grant for $10,135 will be used for agricultural-related accident trauma training. This training will involve staff from several rural hospitals, as well as their local emergency providers.

Hospitals participating in the training include: Towner County Medical Center and Towner County ambulance, Cando; Pembina County Memorial Hospital and Cavalier ambulance, Cavalier; Cooperstown Medical Center and Cooperstown ambulance, Cooperstown; Cavalier County Memorial Hospital and Langdon ambulance, Langdon; Unity Medical Center and Valley Ambulance and Rescue, Grafton; First Care Health Center and Park River ambulance, Park River; and the rural Grand Forks quick response unit, Red River Rescue, of Emerado, Gilby, Manvel and Thompson.

The training will be provided by Altru Health.
