FARGO — On behalf of the American Heart Association, I would like to extend a huge thank you to the 250-plus participants, sponsors, donors, walkers and volunteers who contributed to the Second Annual Greater Grand Forks Heart Walk.
Together, we raised more than $33,000.
Thank you to our chairpersons Barry Medd of First State Bank and Russ Prochko of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota.
In addition, I’d like to thank the following committee members for their time and talents: Sandy Heffernan of Noridian; Dawn Smith, Nancy Endres and Kelly Cofer, all of Altru Health System; Dee Arneson of iBeach 24/7 Tan; and Susie Kroetsch of Alerus Financial.
Also, Janelle Skibicki of AgCountry as well as Marsha Pynn and Cara Jordheim, both of Sanford Health.
The event was a tremendous success because of these leaders’ efforts.
Last but not least, thank you to the following sponsors: Sanford Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, First State Bank, UND School of Medicine and Alerus Financial.
Also, Altru Health System, Bremer Bank, Alerus Center, Aflac, Eagles Crest, Hugo’s Family Marketplace, Subway and the many other local businesses and individuals who contributed.
The money generated from the Heart Walk will support the American Heart Association’s mission to build healthier lives, free from cardiovascular disease and stroke.
Thanks again to all. You truly are the heart heroes.
