BISMARCK — The Health Department says a North Dakota case of listeria illness likely linked to Colorado cantaloupes involves an older woman who lives in the central part of the state.

Officials say the woman became ill in early September and was hospitalized.

The woman has not been identified and officials are still determining whether she ate the contaminated cantaloupes. The woman is 60 or older and resides in Stutsman County.

Federal health officials say 72 illnesses and more than a dozen deaths in 18 states are linked to the tainted fruit.
