FARGO — The state with the lowest food hardship rate in the nation is talking about hunger.

The Taking Action To End Hunger Summit is scheduled to begin Tuesday in Fargo. The two-day event will feature 22 speakers and end with participants rotating among various roundtable discussions.

Organizers say that even though North Dakota's economy is one of the strongest in the country, about 1 in 11 residents sought emergency food assistance last year. Forty percent of those people were children.

A variety show is scheduled Monday at the Fargo Theatre in conjunction with the summit.
