CHEF JEFF — ONE BYTE AT A TIME: Faux Fudge

This simple but delicious dessert will satisfy any sweet tooth.

Faux Fudge

1 3.9-ounce package of chocolate pudding and pie filling (not instant)

2 tablespoons butter

¼ cup milk

1½ cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted

¼ cup nuts, chopped

Combine pudding, butter and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a full boil over medium heat, boil gently for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Quickly blend in sugar; add nuts. Pour into a greased or wax paper lined 8-by-4-inch pan. Cool; cut into squares. Store, covered in the refrigerator.

Yield: 1 pound.
