MOORHEAD — As a person who is passionate about helping people quit using tobacco and improving public health, I was very excited to see the results of Grand Forks’ initiative to go smokefree.
Communities across the U.S. are seeing improved air quality as well as drastic improvements in health; and ultimately, we know that these types of initiatives also lead to helping the 70 percent of tobacco users who want to quit.
I sincerely hope that more North Dakota cities will look at the successes that Fargo, Grand Forks and the state of Minnesota have had and improve the health of their residents as well.
