“Legacy,” Michelle Bredeson, Pill Hill Press, 216 pages.
Michelle Bredeson of Langdon, N.D., has just released her first book, “Legacy,” which will be the first of five novels in the Bloodline series written for teenagers, young adults and fans of supernatural fantasy.
Bredeson will have a book reading and signing at 5 p.m. Monday at Ferguson Books & Media in the Menard’s Strip Mall in Grand Forks.
The book, set in a small Minnesota town on the shores of Lake Superior, introduces 16-year-old Carly Morneau, a news release said. Carly’s feelings of angst and unsettling dreams are the onset of her hereditary ability to shape shift into a white fox. Carly finds her friends have their own talents and secrets.
“When teenage romance and secrets arise, Carly is overwhelmed with information and feelings,” wrote Dawson Schefter, 13, of Langdon, in a review of the book. “In ‘Legacy,’ Carly winds through several exciting challenges as she begins her new life as what she is meant to be. … I liked how (the author) presented the characters as normal people who just happen to have another form of being.”
