BISMARCK — A Gladstone company has landed the contract for a major road repair project in the western North Dakota oil patch.

The state Transportation Department says Martin Construction will be paid about $2 million for the work on heavily traveled state Highway 22.

The highway has been shut down north of Killdeer for about three months because of landslides. The repair project involves relocating and realigning a section of the roadway. It's expected to be opened by early winter, though it will have a gravel surface until a permanent roadway can be constructed in the spring.
