Bernhardt 'Barney' Jose

Bernhardt 'Barney' Jose, 79, of Grand Forks, ND died Friday, June 3, 2011 at Valley Eldercare Center, Grand Forks, surrounded by his loving family.

Bernhardt Jose was born June 14, 1931 in Zap, ND, the son of Christopher and Emily (Ost) Jose. He grew up and attended school in the Zap area. Bernhardt farmed with his father until entering the US Air Force from 1954 until being honorably discharged in 1958.

He married Doreen Vollmer on November 27, 1952 in Wing, ND. He owned and operated Central Mobile Home Repair with his son Mike until retirement.

Wife: Doreen – Grand Forks

Son: Steven (Susan) Jose – Grand Forks

Daughter: Tina (Matt) Gjertson – Wasilla, AK

Daughter-in-law: Karen Jose - Grand Forks

Sister: Ella Wiedrick – Pahrump, NV

Grandchildren: Krystal, Jeffrey, Eric, Michelle (Matt), Gregory and Nichole.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; brother, Edwin and sister Viola Pfenning.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Wesley Methodist Church, 1600 4th Ave. N., Grand Forks.

Visitation will be for the hour before the service at the church.
