Portion of N.D. Highway 57 closed to truck traffic
North Dakota Highway 57 is now closed to truck traffic from the junction of U.S. Highway 281 to the junction of state Highway 20 south of Devils Lake. North Dakota Highway 57 is now closed to truck traffic from the junction of U.S. Highway 281 to the junction of state Highway 20 south of Devils Lake, according to the state Department of Transportation and the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The cause: Heavy truck traffic from a construction project is making the road impassible for passenger vehicles.
Only passenger vehicles will be allowed. Trucks should use a detour.
Northbound truck traffic should take U.S. Highway 281 north to U.S. Highway 2, then travel east to Devils Lake.
Southbound truck traffic should take N.D. Highway 20 south to state Highway 15, go west on Highway 15 to New Rockford, then take U.S. Highway 281 north.
When a road is closed it is illegal to go around barricades and motorists can be fined. For road information, motorists should go to www.dot.nd.gov or call 511.
