DEVILS LAKE — A Devils Lake nursing home is launching a $7.8 million expansion and renovation project.
A groundbreaking ceremony was scheduled today for the project at the Lake Region Lutheran Home's Heartland Care Center.
The project includes a 16-bed Alzheimer's unit addition to the 74-bed nursing home and an addition that will house a multipurpose room and offices. The project will add a total of more than 16,000 square feet and remodel another 17,600. Work will take about a year.
In 2008, the nursing home itself underwent $1.4 million in renovations.
