VIDEOS: Trucker's two treks through Interstate 29 floodwaters north of Grand Forks

A video of a trucker's Interstate 29 ride between and through floodwaters north of Grand Forks includes music from "The Who" and a few added surrealistic touches. A second, more straightforward video from the same trucker offers views of deeper "Lake I-29" driving north of Manvel, N.D., plus more trucks making the water trek. It provides a fast-forward start and finish, features a rock concert version of The Who's "Flood" and throws in a few varied camera views toward the end that provide a trippy feel to this trek.

There's another editing touch that offers a surreal twist - and that's in addition to driving through some floodwaters.

This trucker's Interstate 29 southbound drive between - and through - floodwaters north of Grand Forks - could be called a semi-distinct entry among 2011 floods music videos.

Floodwaters appear on either side of I-29, but not on its surface, until about a minute and 50 seconds into the video. Total running time is about 4 1/2 minutes.

Posted Friday on YouTube, the video apparently was taken several days earlier.

The light on the trucker's southbound trek provides the feel of a morning drive sometime after sunrise. That's an illusion.

The video image is flipped horizontally. The truck is on the wrong side of the interstate. And the fleeting views of road signs appear as though they are views into a mirror.

Whether the distorted image is intentional or not is not shared in the video description.

Driving north

The second video, also posted Friday by YouTube poster "hnbawuede," continues the Interstate 29 trucker's floodwater adventures, also one this week. It lasts close to 12 minutes.

This time driving north - and providing a normal video image - the I-29 trucker navigates floodwaters north of Manvel, N.D., up to the Oslo, Minn., interchange. The waters appear to be deeper than in the first video, and there are more semis visible, too.

The first part of this second video includes audible truck noises overlapping with a loud version of the Red Hot Chili Pepper's "Can't Stop." There's no music heard during the rest of the video:
