The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued a Travel Alert for northern North Dakota through Sunday. Heavy snow is causing reduced visibility, and making the roadways wet. Wet roadways are expected to turn into ice as the temperatures drop in the evening hours which may make travel hazardous. Conditions are such that motorists can still travel, but motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds and drive according to the conditions.

Cities currently affected by the Travel Alert include: Williston, Stanley, Crosby, Minot, Kenmare, Mohall, Bottineau, and surrounding areas. Areas further East including Rolla Langdon and Devils Lake are expected to be affected over night.

Travel Alerts are issued to alert motorists that areas of challenging winter driving conditions may be encountered.
