Quick Black Forest Cake
1 standard-size box devil’s food cake mix
¾ cup sour cream
2 eggs
½ teaspoon almond extract
1 20-ounce can cherry pie filling
Lightly sweetened whipped cream or defrosted whipped topping
Grease and flour a 9-by-13- inch cake pan or Bundt pan. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Beat dry cake mix, sour cream, eggs and extract with an electric mixer. Stir in pie filling by hand. Pour into prepared pan and bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until cake tests done. When cool, frost with whipped cream and serve immediately.
Yield: Serves 12.
