Gas prices increase 14 cents in a week in North Dakota

Average retail gasoline prices in North Dakota have increased 14.3 cents per gallon the past week, averaging $3.50 today. Nationally, prices have increased 12.6 cents per gallon to $3.47, according to gasoline price website NorthDakotaGasPrices.com.

Average retail gasoline prices in North Dakota have increased 14.3 cents per gallon the past week, averaging $3.50 today. Nationally, prices have increased 12.6 cents per gallon to $3.47, according to gasoline price website NorthDakotaGasPrices.com.

Today in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks, most stations were charging $3.50 a gallon, with some charging as much as $3.60.

Including the change in the past week, prices yesterday were 76.5 cents per gallon more than a year ago and 34.1 cents more than a month ago.

The rise in oil is driving price at the pump to levels that weren’t expected for at least another month. Pump prices have jumped an average of 39 cents per gallon since the Libyan uprising began in mid-February, forcing motorists to pay an additional $146 million per day for using the same amount of fuel. The national average hit $3.509 per gallon on Monday, according to AAA, Wright Express and Oil Price Information Service.
