No-travel advisory canceled for N.D.; travel alert remains for many areas outside RR Valley

A travel alert remains in effect today for Devils Lake, Jamestown, Valley City, Bismarck, Minot, Williston and areas surrounding those communities.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation) has lifted its no-travel advisory for the state, but it's keeping a travel alert n effect today for Devils Lake, Jamestown, Valley City, Bismarck, Minot, Williston and areas surrounding those communities.

"Conditions are such that motorists can still travel but may encounter areas of compacted snow creating icy road conditions," the department's statement read. "Motorists should be advised that blowing snow is causing reduced visibility. Motorists are encouraged to reduced speeds and drive according to the conditions."

If you become stranded, motorists should stay with their vehicle and call 911 for emergency assistance, as wind chills are expected to drop below 30 below tonight.
