POLL: Dayton, Emmer virtually tied in Minnesota governor race
Rasmussen Reports conducted telephone survey on Wednesday of 750 likely Minnesota voters that showed Dayton leading Emmer 44 to 41 percent, not enough to be beyond the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.
New poll results released today show DFL candidate Mark Dayton and Republican candidate Tom Emmer are virtually tied in Minnesota’s governor race.
Rasmussen Reports conducted telephone survey on Wednesday of 750 likely Minnesota voters that showed Dayton leading Emmer 44 to 41 percent, not enough to be beyond the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.
It’s not much of a change from an Oct. 6 Rasmussen Reports poll that showed Dayton with a narrow 40 percent to 38 percent lead over Emmer.
But the latest results show a five-point drop in respondents’ support for Independence Party candidate Tom Horner. Wednesday’s poll shows him trailing Dayton and Emmer at 10 percent, down from the 15 percent he got in the Oct. 6 poll.
Just 1 percent of respondents said they planned to vote for another candidate, while 4 percent said they were undecided.
