Marlene Spicer and Ellen Tetrault, Grand Forks, letter: Web site reveals Mock’s views on God

GRAND FORKS — Here is some information that people of God need to know before voting:

One politician with whom we are concerned is Corey Mock, the Democratic candidate for secretary of state. He has publicly denounced organized religion as a sham and the Bible as man-inspired. He also has suggested that it has not been proven that there is a God, and therefore he’s not ready to admit to there being one.

We feel the public needs to know about godless people “mocking” the Christian faith while trying to build a career in government. Currently, Mock is a state representative for District 42 and hopes to be the next secretary of state.

We also do not want Herald readers to just take our word on his stance on religion and faith. Readers can go to the web site listed below and check the archives for Mock’s column of Oct. 2, 2007. Then they can read for themselves the column he wrote for UND’s Dakota Student newspaper headlined, “The difference between God and religion.”
