CHEF JEFF — ONE BYTE AT A TIME: Berry-Infused Tea Spritzer

Adults and kids alike will enjoy this healthy beverage.

Berry-Infused Tea Spritzer

½ cup strawberries, cut in half

½ cup raspberries

4 cups water

2 cups prepared tea (regular or decaffeinated)

2 cups club soda

Whole strawberries, for garnish

Place halved strawberries and raspberries in shallow bowl. Smash slightly with tines of fork. Place fruit in pitcher. Add 4 cups water. Cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Strain berry-water mixture through fine sieve, reserving berry-water in pitcher. Discard berries. Stir in tea and club soda. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh whole strawberry.

Yield: Serves 4.

Approximate nutritional analysis per serving: 14 calories, 8 percent of calories from fat, trace fat (no saturated), no cholesterol, 3 grams carbohydrates, trace protein, 29 milligrams sodium, 1 gram dietary fiber.
