What’s a party without good appetizers?

Sweet and Sour Cocktail Meatballs

1 18-ounce jar grape jelly

1 12-ounce bottle chili sauce

1½ pounds ground chuck

2 tablespoons chopped parsley

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon pepper

1 teaspoon prepared mustard

2 teaspoons chili powder

1 garlic clove, minced

Combine jelly, chili sauce and ¼ cup water in a large saucepan or Dutch oven. Heat, stirring, until smooth. Keep warm. In a bowl, mix beef, parsley, salt, pepper, mustard, chili powder and garlic. Shape into 1-inch balls, and place in jelly sauce. Simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, or until done.

Yield: 36 tiny meatballs.

Approximate nutritional analysis per meatball: 91 calories, 31 percent of calories from fat, 3.1 grams fat (1.3 grams saturated, 11.3 milligrams cholesterol, 3.8 grams protein, 11.9 grams carbohydrates, 0.7 grams fiber, 177 milligrams sodium.
